My hard drive was maxed out... figuratively and literally. But my photos are now backed up on a DVD, external hard drive and a 16GB thumb drive... hopefully my bases are covered.
A lot has happened since November 11th... I ran another half-marathon... number 7. We found out my dear brother has The Cancer, and had to figure out how to deal with that. We had Christmas, and a massive family New Year's Party at my Grandpa's house... and we put his ashes in the cove. It's kind of been a bit much. So what to do? Look at fun pictures and remember the happy, joyful parts of life.
I take the little ones out for a Birthday Adventure instead of buying gifts. This year, for A's birthday we took the light rail downtown, then went to the aquarium. It cracks me up to see them just go out and explore... they get to choose what they want to look at, or not look at in the case of the octopuses, and eat for lunch etc. It's ridiculously fun. I have to download these photos still, so stay tuned.
And
for Bereket's birthday, I got to take her for her first pedicure...
'toenails polished' is what she calls it. She's super girly and favors pink everything. She chose bright pink polish,
got to sit on a teddy bear chair and put her feet in the warm, bubbly
water. It wasn't a full-on pedi... no cutting or pushing of cuticles.
But she did get a foot scrub and had lots of nice lotion. Linda, the
owner of the salon, added a bonus layer of sparkles. B's award for
holding her feet still while the polish went on was a lollipop. Ridiculously fun.
