Mike, T and I ventured to the Gorge this past weekend for the Coldplay show. I've liked them since their first album, and was ridiculously excited to see them live. Ah, those British lads. We also got to see T's good friend Kristen, her husband DJ and beautiful daughter. They live in Ellensburg, which I had never actually spent any time in. I thought it was lovely... there was something about the simpler way of life there. There was just a different pace... sometimes living in the big city and working on a computer everyday gets to me.
We got a lovely campsite at Taneum, right by the river which was a good thing because it was blazing hot.
The show was sold out, but we got a perfect spot on the grass. It was like a long, green shag carpet... which was interesting because all the other grass around there was brown and dead. I wonder how much water it takes to water that massive lawn. I wonder if there's a noticeable dip in the Columbia level when they do? It was a perfect evening for a show... clear skies, warm and a wee bit windy. The show was awesome. The minute the band came out everyone was standing... for the entire time! Everyone danced and cheered and sang- awesome. At one point they had big tubes that shot out thousands of tissue paper butterflies and with the wind, it looked like they were flying! So cool. Chris Martin jumped and danced around the whole show- I love any show where a superstar jumps around and has fun... very charming.

I'm so glad you had fun! Still sad I couldn't go. One of these years.
