Defeated or just Deflated (Or Do the Best You Can, then let go of the Outcome)

I'm not gonna do it.

I had decided I would decide by Friday evening. I even made a pro and con matrix on the advice of my brother Mark, who also provided an explanation of 'sunk costs'- (is that an economics term?) At first I thought he said is was called 'skunk costs'! I would agree that $55 is a skunky fee to pay for a race! Anyway, after a restless night of sleep, this morning I awoke and decided I just couldn't do it this time. I gave myself 10 minutes to change my mind, but I stuck to it.
So you now know my ridiculous thought process and why it often takes me forever to make a decision.

My pride is kind of deflated. But that's a bad sign if I'm letting my running achievements define my pride. Another frightfully revealing look into my brain!

This morning my sister-in-law Sarah called and said she and Ashen were heading to our favorite fabric store The Quilting Loft and offered to pick me up. I got to spend a lovely morning showing Ashen the Ballard skate park (he was mesmerized!) and perusing the fabric store with Sarah, while Ashen crawled around the store acting like a doggie. Perfect!
