I got to spend a recent morning with M&S and the boys. We went over to the lake to chase ducks and play on the toys, but we happened upon an Easter egg 'hunt' for the three and under lot. It was actually a bunch of eggs and candy spread out on a basketball court... not much of a hunt! They really liked the plastic eggs... a new toy to take apart and put back together... I liked the candy.
A few weeks later, I could not bear to go sit in my cubicle again... I've started referring to it as 'cubicle fatigue,' so I went to spend the day with Sarah and the little ones. Mark was even able to meet us at the beach in the evening! There was lots of rock throwing, playing with sand and pointing out every bird and boat on the horizon.
Mondo sized cones were a perfect way to end the afternoon- as it just so happened to be a sunny day... even better when it comes to taking a day off- sweetness indeed!

The lovely Kcasa... I love our dogwood tree!

We got to spend a fun afternoon at the park for Mother' Day to celebrate Mama and Sarah! We had a delish meal, lots of bubbles and running around. I ended up taking most of the photos on Mom's camera, so I only have two photos- but there were lots of good ones!

And finally, one of my very best friends from college- Sarah- is expecting her first baby, a sweet boy. I figured I had tons of time to make her quilt as she isn't due until the end of August... until I got an invitation in the mail that she'd be having a shower in Seattle in two weeks! (She is currently in So.Cal. for another year while her husband finishes residency.) There were many panicked evenings where I was sure I wouldn't get it done, but I finished it the morning of the shower last Saturday and I'm quite happy how it turned out- super fun colors and she really liked it. Success!
Last night was the first night I wasn't furiously working on a sewing project, and I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself! I went for a run then watched the Giro d'Italia. I've been watching it every evening- it's a bike race like the Tour de France, but in Italy. I'm a sucker for anything Italy, really, so that's my excuse. Stay tuned for more...
